This guide helps you ensure your deliveries meet byrd's standards, ensuring a smooth inbound process.
What is a Compliant Delivery?
A compliant delivery meets byrd's standards by adhering to these key points:
- Announce your delivery before it arrives.
- Include a byrd delivery note with your delivery.
- Attach a byrd delivery ID on each parcel or pallet:
- For pallet deliveries, place the ID on one side.
- For parcel deliveries, place the ID on each parcel.
Deliveries are classified as follows:
- Compliant delivery: Meets all the key points (announcement, delivery note, and delivery ID). These deliveries are processed within 3 working days.
- Partially compliant delivery: Missing one key point.
- Non-compliant delivery: Missing more than one key point.
Delivery Guidelines
To ensure your inbound deliveries are processed smoothly, we have created delivery guidelines. Please note that non-compliance will delay the inbounding process and may occur additional costs.
- Announce the correct amount of items being sent.
- Announce separate deliveries if all pallets or parcels cannot be delivered at the same time.
- Example: If you announce two pallets but only one arrives, create a new delivery for the second pallet.
- Ensure your delivery arrives on the announced dates.
- Share a carrier tracking link in your dashboard (e.g., DHL, UPS, FedEx).
- Important: byrd cannot track deliveries without tracking links.
- Import and pay customs duties for non-EU deliveries using INCOTERM DDP.
- Important: byrd will reject deliveries not following this guideline.
- Clearly label each parcel with the SKU and barcode, especially for multiple SKUs.
- Create new SKUs in the dashboard before the delivery arrives (at the very latest).
- Label parcels with "expiration date" and "LOT" for products with these attributes.
- Ensure parcels do not contain more than one lot/expiration date per product.
- Ensure parcels do not contain more than one SKU (unmixed parcels).
- Keep parcel weight under 30kg.
Container-Specific Guidelines
For container deliveries, follow these additional guidelines:
- Announce your container delivery 3 weeks in advance.
- Important: Unannounced containers can be rejected.
- Confirm the container delivery announcement with byrd.
- Attach byrd delivery note and ID on each parcel.
- Palletize all products in the delivery.
- Non-palletized containers will face delays and additional palletization costs.
- Use EURO-pallets (800mm x 1200mm, wooden, according to DIN EN 13698-1:2004-01).
