Scheduled Delivery with DSV Schenker

Let Your B2B Recipient Pick the Delivery Day

Some B2B shipments need a fixed delivery day. With our Scheduled Delivery service ("byrd Standard mit Terminavisierung"), that's easy to handle.

This article explains how the service works, when it makes sense, and how to activate it in your byrd dashboard.

What is Scheduled Delivery?

Scheduled Delivery is an add-on for B2B pallet shipments going out via DSV Schenker from byrd's German fulfillment centers. As soon as your pallet has been picked up, DSV Schenker sends your recipient an email with a link to a scheduling portal. Your recipient picks the exact delivery day themselves — no extra calls, no coordination on your side.

When does it make sense?

Use Scheduled Delivery when:

  • Your B2B recipient needs a fixed delivery day
  • You want to avoid failed delivery attempts and re-delivery costs
  • Your customer prefers to confirm the date directly with the carrier

How it works

  • You create a B2B pallet shipment in your byrd dashboard and select "byrd Standard with scheduled delivery" as the shipping option.

  • You confirm the additional-cost toggle. (The shipment can't be created without this confirmation.)
  • We pick, pack and hand the pallet over to DSV Schenker as usual.
  • As soon as DSV Schenker has picked up your pallet, they email your recipient with the scheduling link.
  • Your recipient picks a delivery date. The earliest possible date is the day after they receive the email.
  • DSV Schenker delivers on the chosen date.

How to activate it

You can select Scheduled Delivery in two ways:

  • Per shipment: choose "byrd Standard mit Terminavisierung" when creating a B2B pallet shipment.
  • Via a saved template: add it to your shipment template once and every shipment created from that template will use the service automatically.

Required: a valid recipient email must be on the shipment. Without it, DSV Schenker can't send the scheduling link.

What does it cost?

Scheduled Delivery costs EUR 25,- per shipment. The fee is added alongside your standard pallet shipping charges.

Good to know

Where is it available?

For B2B pallet shipments out of byrd's German fulfillment centers and within Germany, shipped via DSV Schenker.

What lead time should I expect?

The standard DSV Schenker pallet lead time is 24 to 48 hours after booking. With Scheduled Delivery, the actual delivery date depends on what your recipient picks — the earliest possible day is the day after they receive the scheduling email.
