# How to Create and Manage Packaging Material

Learn how to manage your provided packaging materials efficiently using the byrd dashboard. This feature allows you to track packaging materials just like inventory products.

### **Creating New Packaging Material**

### **1. Access the Packaging Material Section**

- Log into your byrd customer dashboard.
- Go to **Inventory** \> **Packaging Material**.
- Click on **"New Packaging Material"**.
- Fill in all the necessary information.

### **2. Creating and Validating Packaging Material**

- After creating the packaging material, it will appear with a **"pending validation"** icon next to the size group.
- Once the delivery arrives at the warehouse, the size will be checked and validated. Successful validation removes the icon, and the packaging material is counted in your **stock based on shipments**.
- If there are differences between the entered dimensions and the actual dimensions, the warehouse will update and validate the correct dimensions in the system.

### **Managing Pre-Packaged/Ready-To-Ship Products**

You can also streamline your shipping process by marking items as **“Pre-packed”** in the product creation form.
