Amazon pre-FBA Process for B2B Shipments
If you would like to send products to Amazon, you can choose the pre-FBA service to provide the Amazon specific information during the order creation and processing phase.
Important Note: In general, the following Amazon FBA information has to be provided, so a shipment can be successfully processed and sent:
- FBA number
- Amazon reference ID/PO
- FBA labels (approved format is 4 × 6" |10.2 × 15.2 cm, one label per page)
Please read our guide to find out which steps to take in the Amazon Seller Central:
Here’s how to ensure a smooth Amazon pre-FBA process for pallet and parcel shipments.
1. Choose Your Shipping Option as Amazon pre-FBA
Before creating the shipment, ask yourself one question: have you already announced this shipment in Amazon Seller Central? Your answer decides which of the two processing standards to select and how the rest of the process runs.
- Amazon Pre-FBA (Announced) - Choose this if you have already announced the shipment in Amazon Seller Central. That means Amazon has already given you everything you need: the FBA reference and PO number, the destination Amazon warehouse address, and the FBA box labels. You provide all of this to byrd right away when creating the shipment, so it can move through packing without waiting on you.
- Amazon Pre-FBA (Unannounced) - Choose this if you have not yet announced the shipment in Amazon Seller Central and therefore don't have the FBA details or box labels at hand. You create the shipment in byrd with only the destination country, the warehouse packs it, and you provide all the Amazon information afterwards, in one go, once you have announced it in Seller Central (this is available for parcel shipments only).
Manual Selection & Processing Standard: When creating a manual B2B shipment, select the matching processing standard, either “Amazon Pre-FBA (Announced)” or “Amazon Pre-FBA (Unannounced)”.

In case you decide to provide the Amazon labels at a later stage ("Amazon Pre-FBA Unannounced"), a pop-up will alert you about what you have to consider (see below).
If you selected "Amazon Pre-FBA Announced", you need to provide FBA reference and PO number, the destination Amazon warehouse address, and the FBA box labels at this point already.

Important Note: If you are releasing an Amazon pre-FBA order without the FBA labels uploaded, the warehouse will pack the shipment according to standard FBA requirements, but will not follow any customised packing list. When creating and uploading the FBA labels after the order has been packaged, please consider the packaging scheme of the warehouse.
General note regarding FBA labels: When you upload the FBA labels, please make sure to mark them choosing the type “Amazon FBA Box Label” or "Amazon FBA Pallet Label" & tick the box to print the labels. Please also make sure to upload all labels in a proper “label format”. Notifications as seen in the pictures below will remind you about the importance of choosing a label format in order to avoid processing delays.
2. Manually Release Amazon pre-FBA Orders & Select the Warehouse
- Manual Release: Manually release Amazon pre-FBA orders from your dashboard.
- Warehouse Selection: Manually select the warehouse if you are operating from multiple warehouses.
3. Confirm Processing and Provide Amazon Specific Information
This step applies if you still owe Amazon information after packing, which is the case for Unannounced shipments and for Announced pallet shipments. If you created an Announced parcel shipment, you already provided everything at creation and can skip ahead to step 4.
- Warehouse Processing: Once the warehouse packs the shipment, it will be marked as "Label required" and “Action required” in your Customer Dashboard. You will get a bell notification as soon as this happens. In addition, an email notification will be sent to you every day at 8am highlighting all shipments that require an action from your side.

- Providing Amazon Specific Information: When entering the shipment overview, a banner will be displayed for all shipments where the Amazon specific infos and/or the Amazon FBA label(s) are missing:
- Unannounced (parcel): provide the FBA reference and PO number, the destination Amazon warehouse address, and the FBA box labels, all at once.
- Announced (pallet): upload the FBA pallet labels once the shipment is packed and the final pallet dimensions and weight are known.

When you upload the FBA labels, please make sure to choose the fitting option & tick the box to print the labels. Please also make sure to upload all labels in a proper “label format”. Notifications as seen in the pictures below will remind you about the importance of choosing a label format in order to avoid processing delays.
